Noel L. Poff
Certified Advanced Rolfer
LMT, CSCS, CPT, RYT
Noel started his professional career in health and wellness
as an NASM certified personal trainer in 2005. He quickly found his
ability to help and interact with clients was limited to fitness and wanted to
explore ways of improving health that involved more of whole of who we
are. Within a year he started taking his first classes in massage therapy at
the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, SC in addition to
taking undergraduate courses towards his Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy
at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Noel completed massage
school in 2007, his bachelors in 2009, his NSCA Certified Strength and
Conditioning Specialist Certification in 2010, and continued his studies in
philosophy under the same university's Masters of Arts program.
During a summer break after a year in the Masters program Noel decided
to return to Charleston in order to train and massage while saving for
upcoming semesters. He decided not to finish his degree in light
of rediscovering how fulfilling it is to promote peoples' health. He
cultivated a more personal form of philosophy from these types of
relationships fueled by unending study in how we form, shape, and
express ourselves. He was soon again working full-time as a personal
trainer and spending extra hours working as a licensed massage therapist.
Within a year he began training to become a certified yoga instructor and through being exposed to fascial work and experiencing the effectiveness himself he decided to move to Boulder, CO in order to learn the art of Rolfing: Structural Integration; completing his training in 2016. No amount of training or certifications can speak to the years of experience he gained working with people but he sees himself ever in training as a lifelong student of health. Being excited to be a part of the Lowcountry's ever growing and ever evolving health and wellness community he feels as though he is in the right place.
Growing up along the southeast coastline helped provide a place for Noel to explore the intimate relationship health has with how people move and grow within an ever changing environment. Sharing with others his experiences in this exploration has become both his passion and profession.
